Phuket old town comprises only six roads, the area is steeped in History and in bygone days was inhabited by settles from many different nations and ethnic group, including Chinese, Indians, Europeans, Muslims who came to trade or put down their roots. These early settlers built terraced homes in a style that later became known as " Sino-Portuguese " architecture. Way back in the reign of King Rama IV, the tin mining industry flourished but these days the mines are preserved as museums and many local buildings have been converted into accommodation, dining space, coffee shop and souvenir shop.

I had some ideas to create a photographic project of Sino-Portuguese architecture, based especially on the terraces, doors, windows and balconies, but I could not carry out any of my ideas because the vehicles parked continuously on both sides of all roads in the historic center prevented me. A popular phrase says; if you can,t beat your enemy, ally with him... and that,s exactly what I did, since I couldn,t eliminate all the vehicles, I used them creatively and the result is Architecar, photographic project where the architecture and lighting of Phuket old town in Thailand, is reflected in the parked cars creating curved and multicolored reflections, both in the glass and the sheet of the cars.

All the images in this project have been taken without filters and have not been edited.
